Lesson 1: Why Behind IS-IS Routing Protocol
IS-IS aise hi paida nahi hua. Iske peeche ek pura history hai. Yeh protocol OSI world ke liye bana tha, CLNS routing ke liye. Uske baad LSP exchange hota hai, jo router ke sab links ki information carry karta hai. Iss lesson mein aap Area ka concept bhi seekhoge. IS-IS mein router ek hi area mein rehta hai. Boundary link par hoti hai, router par nahi. Yeh OSPF se bilkul alag design hai, aur isi design ki wajah se IS-IS bade networks mein aasaani se scale karta hai.

Lesson 4: Flooding aur Levels in IS-IS
Har link state protocol ke saamne ek problem hoti hai: har router ko sync mein kaise rakhein bina bandwidth waste kiye aur bina loop banaye. IS-IS iska jawaab deta hai CSNP aur PSNP se. CSNP ek complete list hai jo router ke paas hai, aur PSNP specific LSPs ko request ya acknowledge karta hai. Lesson 6: Metrics, Redistribution aur Dijkstra Algorithm
Dijkstra algorithm har link state protocol ka engine hai. Iss lesson mein aap Dijkstra ko haath se, ek chhota topology par run karenge, taaki SPF result predict karna aa jaaye. Phir narrow metric (6 bit, sirf 63 tak) aur wide metric (24 bit) ka farak samjhoge, aur kyun har serious IS-IS deployment wide metric style use karta hai. Redistribution IS-IS aur OSPF, BGP ya static ke beech mein, safely, route tag aur policy ke saath.
